  • Summer 2009...already

Can not believe it is already half thru summer!!  Happy 4th to all this weekend!  Updates on life here in GA.

FAMILY: all doing good.  I am PG again - 15wks. :).  Zumaya is crawling everywhere and of course into everything - most used saying right now is "no, leave that, come play with your toys"  She has two little teeth which she worked hard to get.  She loves her Grandparents!

Stayed with mom, dad, and ash last weekend and had a ball going to McDonalds, eating cheesies with her two teeth, and being spoiled.Cheesy2 firstcar

WORK:  Has been very busy.  I am 'charging' everyother weekend.  We also just moved to our new pt. tower which is very beautiful and would be hard to beat.  All single rooms with new furniture and beds and flat screen tvs, and new toys and machines for us nurses too.  the rooms are big and beautiful.  we have been full for almost 2 wks now - its been very busy. We can hold 36 pts on our floor and we are always either full or filling up.  It is a lot of walking for us and I am usually exhausted after work with my feet throbbing.  But it is a much nicer work environment.  I love coming home and holding my little baby and carrying her off to bed and then waking to her smiley face every morning - makes the world a wonderful place to be!!

  • Waiting for Summer

    Fimally getting back on here.

Has been crazy the last month or so.  Big snow 2wks ago, followed by 70 degree weather by the weekend.  Little Zumaya saw her first snow and got her first sunburn (thanks to the jockey lot) all in one week. :)

The snow was not fun.  Got stuck at 1 in the am and had to walk the rest of the way home in shin deep snow to my doublewide that didnt have any power for 2 days.  It was so quiet and clear - very beautiful.  We huddled around candles and kept Zumaya bundled and in bed with us until rescued by my mom on monday.  It was beautiful - would have been great fun to play in if we would have had a way of getting warm. :)  Somehow in the whole moving trees out of my snowy path and work i managed to lose my wedding ring.  Its cold again this weekend.  Cant wait for the warm weather to stay.

Heres some snow pics for those of you in westminster who had no snow.

The footprints are where my friend and I tromped through the snow at 1am.

  • Chocolate Doughnuts

Had a chocolate doughnut offered to me the other day by a patient.  Considering I had just gotten off my soap box of "smoking is unhealthy and you need to quit" I couldnt tell if she liked me for my honesty, was just trying to get me to quit harping on the subject, or if she was trying to bribe me for a private room (not that I wouldn't have done the same thing).  As all good nurses do I accepted the bribe, but as we were full she had to stay in her ward room (which she had all to herself, so it wasn't a complete loss)  I also brought her a pamplet about smoking - cant keep a good nurse quiet either. :)  I dont think my teaching skills are that great.  Earlier I had taught a patient about his low fat diet and he promptly ordered McDonalds from his friend and chowed down on nuggets and a coke.  I just love that look of guilt when I walk in and see my cardiac risk patients with a mouth full of nugget.  I love meeting all these different people with different personalities - God must have a wonderful imagination and a great love for people.

The New Year is here and life is getting back to normal.  My "vacation" from work is over - working 2nd now which means bonding time between Zumaya and her Grandma's.

Christmas morning Zumaya, Darin and I each opened our present from each other, then we spent the rest of the day with my family - lots of fun.

Its been very rainy here the last couple days - my car got stuck up to its front axil in our yard and took Darin 2 hours to get it out.  It is wonderful to see the ponds full again.  Mud puddles are beautiful after not seeing any for so long a time.

    Happy New Year to all!
